  • When Burger King came to Pitch with a last minute request to help it revive the cult classic Yumbo sandwich, we couldn’t say no. Fans had been begging for its return for decades. Instead of bringing this iconic sandwich to the present, we decided to have some fun bringing real customers back to the Yumbo’s glory days: 1974.

    After completely transforming one Burger King location, we captured the confusion of dozens of real customers on hidden camera. This piece was meant to create conversation and buzz around the reintroduction of a classic. And it did just that. The story was picked up overnight by Good Morning America, Huffington Post, and even went international with press in Daily Mail.What came next was an almost instant 10% bump in Burger King’s 2 for $5 menu sales, and a torrent of social media celebration across the Internet. Whether it’s a craving for hot ham and melted cheesy goodness or a yearning to relive the good ol’ days, the relaunch of the Yumbo resulted in yet another tasty campaign for Burger King.

      At our '70s-tranformed Burger King, we completely immersed real customers into another time. From clothing and groovy lingo to outdated cars and colors, our marks were primed for the Yumbo experience even before they walked in.
    • Jaw-dropping experience

      Time after time, the real customers we pranked couldn’t believe their eyes. Whether it was the disco dancers, the roller skaters, or the huge mosaic wall, we gave Burger King patrons an experience they won’t ever forget.
    • All about the little things

      From a troupe of actors and outdated technology all the way down to the retro Burger King logos on the cups, we created a truly immersive Yumbo experience that was true to the brand’s history and made our marks feel like they truly stepped back in time.
