To kick off the second year of Pepsi’s Hyped For Halftime program, the brand tapped Motive to create a thunderclap moment—and Motive responded with something huge. We invited 3,000 military veterans and their supporters to join us in Corpus Christi, Texas—atop the flight deck of the USS Lexington aircraft carrier—for a very special private performance from multi-platinum country star, Blake Shelton.
The event was captured from countless angles by a film crew of more than 140, and edited into both a two-minute digital piece, and a 60-second TV commercial that debuted during the biggest NFL game of 2014’s coveted Thanksgiving Day lineup. The digital piece netted more than 1.3 million YouTube views—and what was designed to serve as a one-time TV spot became one of Pepsi’s most frequently used pieces of broadcast media throughout the remainder of 2014.
